I don’t know if this image was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek about the phoniness of wrapping oneself in the flag.  For those not familiar with American idioms, it is meant to express the idea of someone pretending to be highly patriotic for political gain.  The date is not known, but the photo was shot in Utah.
