Every once in a while I will purchase an image that doesn’t quite fit into my collection.  I have learned to trust my instincts and know that there is something to appreciate, even if I am not consciously aware of it at the time.

A photograph like this conveys a surprising amount of charming detail.  The clothes are form-fitting enough to emphasize the girl’s form,  the face in profile shows her youthful button nose and her well-groomed ponytail and the starfish adds a bit of geometric interest to the composition.  All this is contrasted by the rich color and texture of the background and  her contemplative attitude offers a sense of her inner world as well.
