Edme Marie Cadoux

These are beautiful but I wish I could find additional views of them, particularly A la fontaine (At the Fountain), which won third prize at the Salon when it was exhibited in 1887. Cadoux’s own daughter died at the age of nine. His wife had also passed away prior to the death of his daughter, and ironically (or perhaps not) Cadoux devoted much of his later life to sculpting children.

So, we see in At the Fountain the little boy holding a vessel with a spigot (ahem) and a girl holding a cup. Hmmmm . . .
